About me...
Here's a short bio; born and raised to the age to 12 in Oakland. Moved out to the subburbs to attend high school in Concord (Mt. Diablo High Red Devils!). Spent 3+ years at Diablo Valley College and then transferred as a junior to the University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!). After graduating from UCB with a degree in mathematics, I spent a few years working at Lockheed and then left in 1997 to a start-up in Palo Alto, Brio Technology. I've been with Brio ever since, although now it's called Hyperion Solutions and is located in Santa Clara, CA. In late 2005, I wrapped up my graduate school studies and earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. You can click here for a peek at my resume. My wife, Lori, and I met while I was working my way through school (Office Club/Depot). We fell out of touch for a few years then reconnected (timing is everything). We fell in love, got married and now have 2 perfect kids (need proof? see their pages). A few pictures... Some old, and some not so old, and some more recent:
Some of my favorite things... For starters, at the top of the list of my favorite things is my family, wife Lori and our children Emma Rose and Sean Douglas are the absolutely most important people in my life. I simply could not imagine life without them. I adore them!! Next on my list is our extended family, brothers, sisters, parents, grand-parents and cousins. And last, but certainly not least, are the many friends I've been so lucky to keep close. Something that I enjoy very much is music; not only listening but also playing. I picked up the guitar a couple of years ago which is a nice addition to the years of piano playing. Physical activity is something that I really enjoy and I just don't feel like myself when I don't get to do it regularly. I try and run at least one organized race each year (sometimes two or more) and I also have been playing competitive ice hockey since my days at Cal. And after nine years of waiting for Lori to change her mind on the subject, I finally bought and started motorcycle riding. I never go out riding without proper gear since I always want to return home safely. I'm a San Jose Sharks fan, a Dallas Cowboys fan (much to the chagrin of my entire family) and an Oakland A's fan. |
