Zelda Zelda washed up on the shores of Koholint Island at the tender age of ten. Through Hylian magic, she managed to conceal her identity from the rest of the islanders, but as time progressed, her abilities to use magic decreased significantly. By the time Link arrived, she had completely lost all of her powers Zelda is a passionate individual who has adapted quite well to living a simple life, free of royal obligations and restrictions. Her desire to return home to Hyrule is fueled only by Link's desperation for home. Zelda herself has come to consider Koholint the home she always wanted. A skilled archer and runner, Zelda helps Link throughout his quest as both an intellectual assistant and a warrior in her own right. She slowly becomes skilled with the sword and with her innate Hylian powers, but is still very hesistant to let her abilities be seen by others. Zelda's primary secret, revealed by the end of the first book of the series, is that she has taken on the persona of Marin. Using magic, she has tricked almost all of the islanders into believing that she is the Human daughter of Tarin and has lived on Koholint her entire life. |
