A Brief Story History

The very first book in the "Secrets" saga was written in the winter of 2000 on sheets of lined, notebook paper during a speech competition at a local high school. I paid my mother five dollars to type it out and asked my father to convert the document to html so I could send it off to my favorite Zelda site, North Castle, which is run by the fabulous Lady Juliet.

From 2000 to 2005, the twelve parts of the story were written and delivered, upon completion to Lady Juliet to be posted exclusively on her site. Once part twelve had been completed, I branched out to feature the saga on several other select sites including the Marin Shrine and Kasuto.net.

"Secrets" is based largely on games of make believe that I played with my friends on the playground. I had just received my first Gameboy and thought the fictional island of Koholint would be fun to explore. Many of the primary characters are based on the adventures that took place on the playground, among them, Carry, Valerie, and Matilda.
