With all the security concerns out there today, I decided to try to put together a web page
that would assist the "commoner" with safe guarding against some of these problems. Many
of us do not know that when we go "on line" via the internet that we are opening ourselves up
to a whole host of privacy intrusions. This is mainly done by a site that we visit setting
a "Cookie" and by other more technical means.
Another thing that most of us do not know is that every time we visit a web site there is a
copy of not only the url we visited kept on file on our computer, there is also copies of
every single image we view kept as well. These files are kept in the "cache" files of the
particular browser we are using. If the "cookies" and the "cache" files are not cleaned up
they can set in residence for a very long time.
As we take the walk through the security of surfing the web, the security of our e-mail and
the security of our PC we will find answers to questions we never thought of asking. This
site is dedicated to assisting those of us that do not know and that need to learn. It will
be written in plain english text so that anyone, including me, would know what it is that we
are talking about.
And ALWAYS remember this.....Big Brother is watching and he knows every move you make
on the internet.......So do not give him a REASON to see where you have been and what
you have been looking at if he gets inside your PC!!
Included on this site will be the following links (click the check mark to take you to the
subject):
