Legend suggests that the shamrock was used by St Patrick in the 5th
century to demonstrate the meaning of the Trinity.
The plant was reputed to have mystic powers, the leaves standing upright
to warn of an approaching storm.
Only one thing is certain about the shamrock, Ireland's most famous symbol
worn by millions on St Patrick's Day: The word is derived from the
Irish 'seamróg', meaning 'summer plant'.

Shamrock
Seamróg assembled now and then in ninetyfive out of four so far non-irish guitar-players. They sat together, drank some whiskey, talked ´bout this and that and drank some more whiskey. Suddenly clouds appeared, a flash stroke and they played like hell. They played so fast, that one guitar-player mutated to a fiddler and the other guitar-players tried to protect themselves by playing Irish tunes. That´s the way it goes today - as the above picture shows (but the clouds have disappeared now).
Every now and then you can join Shamrock at various places throughout the world. Frankly, mainly in Europe. Well, mostly in Germany. OK, sometimes outside Berlin. For example at the
Westfalia Summer Folk Session at Großenheerse Windmill
on the 12th of July 1998
If you missed that gorgeous event, you possibly could make us putting some pictures of it on this page. You just have to send us some nice emails asking for it.
see you..
