It is a very strong loop knot
This is a very common knot. You can use it to tie on hooks and swivels. You can make it stronger by doubling the line
Shockleader knots
This is a very common knot and is easy to tie anywhere. Learn it if your beginning as it will save valuable time on the beach remember to wet the knot before tightening.
I would tie this leader knot at home as it would be nearly impossible to tie on the beach. The hole in the leader is made by flattening the leader with a pliers and then pushing a hot needle through the flattened bit. Now tie the knot as on the picture, don't forget to wet the knot. When the knot is finished I suggest strengthening it with a drop of superglue.
