Oregon Confederate Veteran Graves Project:
There are at least 20 Confederate Veterans buried in Jackson and Josephine counties. Our SCV Camp has a sacred mission to find and honor each and every one.
Camp namesake Private John Slagle is buried in Missouri Flats cemetary. He is next to his wife Carrie, but we do not know on which side.
Two graves have been found in Ashland by Richard Weed of SCV Camp #1778 in the Dalles. Private George W. Praytor Co. G 1st Mississippi Cavalry and Private John C. Prator Co. D 2nd Battalion Alabama Light Artillery.
