| From having had a gas fireplace in our previous home we knew we wanted another one. We built out the west wall and created a fireplace from a mantel salvaged from my grandmother's house. We cut a surround from metal and I faux painted it marble. Using the same 1" frame molding as on the kitchen cabinets we trimed out the walls to simulate panels. This along with the crown molding gave this otherwise boring room interest. |
