LITERATURE/MUSIC
Here is a small list of my favorites in literature and music.  Unfortunatlely
I don't seem to have the time to read as much as I did (or wish to).
I constantly listen to music.  I do not watch t.v.  I'd rather have
my background filled with music.

HOME
e. e. cummings
it may not always be so; and i say
that if your lips, which i have loved, should touch
another's, and your dear strong fingers clutch
his heart, as mine in time not far away;
if on another's face your sweet hair lay
in such a silence as i know, or such
great writhing words as, uttering overmuch,
stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;

if this should be, i say if this should be--
you of my heart, send me a little word;
that i may go unto him, and take his hands,
saying, Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face, and hear one bird
sing terribly afar in the lost lands.

somewhere i have never travelled,gladly beyond
any experience,your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life will shut very beautifully,suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the colour of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens;only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody,not even the rain,has such small hands
in spite of everything
which breathes and moves, since Doom
(with white longest hands
neatening each crease)
will smooth entirely our minds

--before leaving my room
i turn, and(stooping
through the morning)kiss
this pillow, dear
where our heads lived and were.
i like my body when it is with your
body.  It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body.  i like what it does,
i like its hows.  i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss,  i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh. . . . And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new

"You were the love for certain of my life; you were simply my beloved wife. I don't know for certain how I'll live my life; now alone without my beloved wife....my love is gone would it be wrong if I should surrender all the joy in my life go with her tonight?...would it be wrong if I should just turn my face away from the light go with her tonight?"

-- Natalie Merchant

"all that no-one sees you see what's inside of me, every nerve that hurts you heal, deep inside of me, you don't have to speak - I feel emotional landscapes they puzzle me, confuse -- then the riddle gets solved and you push me up to this:"
-- Bjork

"It's out there if you want me I'll be here...I'll be dreaming
my dreams with you."
-- The Cranberries

"there is no-one left in the world that i can hold onto.  there is really no-one left at all, there is only you.  And if you leave me now you leave all that we were.  Undone.  There is really no-one left you are the only one.  And still the hardest part for you to put your trust in me.  i love you more than i can say; why won't you just believe?" -- The Cure

"i know that i'll never see him again, not the way the same way that I saw him then.  i know that when i get back on my feet, i will walk away from misery.  what do you say when it's all been said?  how do you feel when it's all been felt?  where do you go when it's all gone?  and you don't care enough to carry on?  i say close your eyes, look down deep inside: someone is there for you, someone who cares for you.  i know it's easier to say than do, easier to look away than see it through.  i know it's easier to think than feel, easier to make it up than make it real.  it's hard to love, it's hard not to love."
--
Edie Brickell

"i know some day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be somebody else's sky but why? Why? Why can't it be mine?"
-- Pearl Jam
