first a spark...then a flame. The spirit of Boy Scouting in Loogootee, Indiana burns brightly

I am saddened to say that I have concluded my services as a Troop Committee Member of Troop 484 as well as an Assistant Cubmaster in Pack 444. I am leaving because I will be moving elsewhere.

In Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 (Holy Bible) It talks about a time and a place for everything. Check out this passage from the CEV;

1. Everything on earth has its own time and its own season.
2. There is a time for birth and death, planting and reaping,
3. for killing and healing, destroying and building,
4. for crying and laughing, weeping and dancing,
5. for throwing stones and gathering stones, embracing and parting.
6. There is a time for finding and losing, keeping and giving,
7. for tearing and sewing, listening and speaking.
8. There is also a time for love and hate, for war and peace.

I feel that my time has come. I believe that there is a 'time to plant' and a 'time to leave'. I feel that it is time that I must leave to pursue 'greener pastures'. I am NOT leaving Scouting, rather than giving my services elsewhere.

I do intend to continue Scouting and Order of the Arrow elsewhere. I had fun as a Scout, Assistant Scoutmaster, Webelos Den Leader, Troop Committee Member, Merit Badge counselor, and this and that. I mean Troop 484 and Pack 444 Rock!

As I close this, my final minute for Loogootee, I must say, It was fun. God Bless you all. Hey, JS (you know who you are), I believe you will get your Eagle.

Well, fare the well.

Well, may the great Scoutmaster of us all be with us until we meet once again.....

Sincerely yours in Boy Scouting
