Floribunda roses, the red ones are "Europena" and the white one are "Summer Snow". These are planted in raised beds which are lined with 2x6 boards.
These Europena roses have really beautiful flowers, I also like the leaves which are bright red in spring
This was my first time growing sunflowers, but it definitely won't be my last. They made me happy.
This is our little crepe myrtle tree with cinnamon and purple basil growing around it. Basil has become one of my favorite plants. It's ease to grow from seed and looks pretty all summer long and it smells wonderful.
A little closer look at the above mentioned basil. This picture doesn't really do justice to how pretty these plants really are.
These were a gift from Sonja's grandmother the previous year. The first year the foliage came up but without flowers. So we were delighted when they bloomed this year.
I just love marigolds, what can I say. I can't imagine going a year without growing some marigolds somewhere in the yard
Here's our herb garden. From left to right we have clary sage, garlic and thyme. We planted the clary sage the previous summer and it only got about a foot tall with no flowers so we thought that was all it did. Imagine our surprise when it survived the winter and came up and did this. Now in spring of 2001 this plant is still there and we're eagerly awaiting to see if it blooms again this summer.
