Welcome to my web site about Yosemite National Park. My family and I travel around the country vacationing at National Parks, and one of our favorite parks is Yosemite. The natural beauty of the park truly amazed us. I think everyone should visit this extraordinarily national treasure at least once. I hope viewing some of the pictures of the scenery will convince you to plan a trip to Yosemite.

Yosemite National Park is located within the Sierra Nevada Mountains in central California. The park offers an extremely diverse array of scenery. The elevation within the park ranges from 2,000 feet above sea level to over 13,000 feet. You may travel along the scenic Tioga Road, which cuts across the Sierra Mountains. This high mountain road travels along the crest of the Sierra Mountains, and treats you to breath-taking views of the snow-capped peaks, mirror-like mountain lakes, and colorful meadows. Along this route, you will pass through Tuolumme meadows, which is the Sierra's largest sub alpine meadow. During your visit to the park, you can also go to see one of three groves of giant sequoias. The giant sequoia is the largest living thing on earth. It is truly amazing to stand next to one of these massive giants. The crown jewel of the park lies within the seven-mile gorge of Yosemite Valley. Within the valley, you will be surrounded by 3,000-foot walls of granite, smooth domes, and several of the world's largest waterfalls. Or, you may drive to Glacier point and view the Valley from high above. At that vantage point you will be overwhelmed by the natural beauty.
