- Sleeping bag - very important.
- Warm, comfortable clothing. Layers work
best, thermal underwear is a good idea and doesn't take
up much room in your bag. Don't bring smart clothes, and
remember it can get very cold at sea at night.
- Warm hat.
- A reasonable set of oilskins - if you
are not sure about this one or don't have any we may be
able to advise.
- Wellington boots and non-slip footwear
- boots or shoes. We are not a yacht so we don't fuss about
proper 'deck' footwear.
- Torch and batteries.
- 12 volt charger for your mobile phone,
if you bring one.
- Something to read although we do have
a library on board, mostly about boats.
- Small towel.
- Sailing knife if you have one.
- Seasickness tablets and any medication
that you need.
- Strap to hold your sunglasses/glasses
on.
- Swim suit if you want to.
- Loose clothing to cover up from the sun.
- Sunscreen, lip salve, moisturiser, toiletries
etc.
- Space is limited for stowage on board
so don't overdo it, but do make sure you will be warm enough.
You may also have to carry your bag some way. (A certain
amount of handwashing can be done on board.)
