Born in Michigan, the same hospital as his friend Sam Raimi, he spent his childhood hanging with the man and picking on his brother Ted. While in college, Sam convinced Bruce to appear on a little film of his, a sort of calling card to Hollywood. The Film, The Evil Dead. It follows five young people as they go into a cabin in the woods, one possessed by demons. All but Bruce are killed through such ways as "rape by tree" (I have a funny line for just such an occassion!). Young Bruce got roles in some projects but then came along Evil Dead 2! It sort of follows the first film, only Ash and his girlfriend are in the woods this time, it is no less possessed. He lobs off his possessed right hand in order to attach a chainsaw to take on the dead! And there is a sense of humor. In 1993, the third in the series, Army of Darkness, was released. With an emphasis more on humor and fantasy, Ash is transported back to medival times and proceeds to you know what on their asses! Ever since, he has appeared on various projects including "Hercules" and "Xena" as recurring sidekick Autolycus, the king of theives!
