Saromatian Culture, Arts, and Sciences

Daily life in Saromatia is, perhaps surprisingly, not too different from life elsewhere, particularly amongst the lower and middle classes. Crops have to be planted and harvested, and absolutely everyone must assist. The main difference from the "default" model is that legal control of the household and its goods rests in the hands of the wife and mother, rather than the husband and father. She may still spin while he chops the wood, but she is the one doing the buying, selling, and managing around the farm.

Archetypes and stereotypes of men and women persist in Saromatia, even in these enlightened times. Here we have the ideal Noblewoman and Nobleman, as well as some common misandristic stereotypes.

The medical arts are more advanced in Saromatia than anywhere else, except perhaps the Jade Empire.
