lifespan 8: Au Revoire, Rob!

Rob's Removal
Although a fiercely strong competitor, Rob was an irritant in the Cree tribe.  When he came out with accusations of cheating, the Host had had enough and took the extreme measure of removing Rob from the game.

Rob Rewound
Rob could have been a model player.  He made an early and loyal final-two alliance with Karen and aligned with Janei and Mike.  The KRJM alliance reigned over Cree and while it might have caused some of the divisions which impacted upon the tribe's performance, it protected Rob at every tribal council.

Rob was also very strong in challenges, and was one of the most competitive and active players in the game — his participation was second only to that of tribemate Miriam.  So if Rob had a good alliance and was strong in challenges, what did he do wrong?

Raucous Rob
The flaw in Rob's gameplay might be seen as a flaw of character:  Rob often behaved like a sore loser.  Perhaps anyone would if suffering Cree's losing streak, and especially someone as driven to win as Rob.  Rob played the 'blame game' on Miriam, gaining her distrust and making an enemy out of Aiden.  Rob's sarcastic and defeatist attitude demoralized his tribe, and may have had a hand in Cree's downfall.

What Could Rob Have Done?
Rob could have been nicer from the get-go.  Although he may have felt secure in his alliance, there was nothing to be gained from antagonizing his other tribemates.  It certainly would not have helped him if Rob had gone on to the merge.

That goes doubly for antagonizing the host.  Rob may well have had reason to complain, but not to argue.  Game hosts are an overworked and underappreciated breed.  Always be gracious; and if you must criticize, do so constructively.

Conclusion
Rob is the kind of obsessive perfectionist who makes a very good competitive, strategic player.  He needs to learn to control the other side of that, to be patient and tolerant with his fellow players and the game's inevitable foibles.
