Coming to the brink of the merge, Karen quits when Rob, her #1 ally, is removed from the game, shifting the centre of power in Cree and ruining her strategy.
Karen Encapsulated
Karen was the alliance Power-Player of the Cree tribe. She made an early alliance with Rob, pulled in Janei and Mike, and was offered no-vote pacts from Miriam and Staton. Charming, sweet, and ruthless, Karen did equally well at alliances and challenges. She was a strong and active player, but not so much to appear a huge threat at individual competition. Karen had put herself in a good position for the merge (as compared to the other members of Cree).
Why Karen?
No final words were left, so I can only speculate on why Karen quit. Perhaps she walked-off as a show of support for Rob. Perhaps she didn't want to start all over at this stage of the game and try to make another final-two alliance. Perhaps she felt that Rob's departure had shifted Cree's power over to Miriam and Staton? Perhaps Karen was just plain demoralized and defeated.
Conclusion
A player who should have made the merge, Karen decided she had had enough of the game and forfeited that honour.
