This project came out well. The amp works great. I brought it
to Madrigal to be tested and it didn't reach the specs that Tripath
had but this may have been due to the equipment. The THD (total
harmonic distortion) which should have been really low was at
the best 3%. This may have been due to the chip that controls
the EV board effecting the equipment. The output was 111 watts
per channel compared to 150 watts that Tripath's spec says. This
may have been due to a lower voltage on the varaible ac power
supply. It may not have reached Tripath's specs but I think it
sounds really good. I had it hooked up to the House Wrecker and
ran it for a while and it had no problems moving the big fifteen.
The circuits that we built to add on really didn't work as well
as we had hoped. They worked but once it was turned up at all
they made the speaker pop when the bass hit. I will be looking
into this. I hope to get the bridging circuit to work right with
no noise so that I can get more power. I would like to be able
to run both of the fifteens in the House Wrecker. Before I was
only running one speaker off one channel. I think with a little
more work I will have it working as it should be.
