Shortly after the initial clearing of trees, a tree from the Durham County side of the creek fell during a storm. Fortunately, although the tree fell onto a resident’s property, there was no significant damage. With the widening of the creek for the planned road and increased stormwater runoff from new developments, we worry about the impact of increased erosion along the creek’s banks.

This is after portions of the tree were removed by chainsaws. You can see branches and leaves in the gutter. Good thing the tree wasn’t any taller! Also notice that it just missed taking down a pine tree.
