What you need to watch pay-tv is a digital reciver, one or more dishes/lnbīs (depends on how many providers you want to watch), CAMS, a card programmer and cards with 24(L)c16 and 16F84 (goldcards).
Before you choose a digital reciver, there are several things you have to decide: There are 4 major encryption methods/systems, which are used by the various providers. For each of these you need a CAM (perhaps your reciver have embeded/cardslot for one of them), and you need dishes/lnb`s for 4 satellites (1w, 5e, 13e and 19e). Dishes and Universal lnb`s from your old D2MAC system will work OK. Be sure to buy a reciver with 2x PCMCIA Common Interface slots (Here you insert your CAMS). The ultimative solution is a reciver with embeded, 2x PCMCIA Common Interface slots, 2 CAMS and 2 dishes each with 2 lnb`s connected with a diseqc 4. With this solution you will be able to watch up to about 1000-1200 channels incl. over 100 movie- and XX channels.
