FUNDRAISING

HISTORY

IN GOOD TASTE FUNDRAISER

The reason that we are offering this option is simply because the food is so AWESOME at In Good Taste, that our head coach wants to buy some more for himself and decided that the best way to do that was to offer the fundraiser through the club.  I will tell you that as a person with Ukrainian grandparents who made excellent Perogies, the ones available through In  Good Taste are unbelievably good.  I personally will be buying at least 4 boxes of them.

As a club, we get 30% of all sales made.  So if you sell $30.00 or more, you have taken care of your fundraising requirements.  That’s 2 boxes of perogies.  We hope that you will buy or sell more as we also know from experience that the cabbage rolls and the baking are beyond compare as well.

The nice thing about this fundraiser is that you get something that you really want and will use for the same price that you would pay at the grocery store and the quality is supreme.  Christmas is coming up and this would take care of any Christmas baking that you were not looking forward to doing.

We will be giving prizes to the top fundraisers.  The top 3 fundraisers, who sell over $100 of food, will each receive one free box of 4 dozen Perogies as a bonus.

HOW TO DO IT:

1.        With this newsletter, you have received one order sheet.  The order sheet gives the complete description and price of each item that is available for sale.

2.        As you make sales, make sure you write the person’s name down on the Order Sheet along with the number of items they have ordered under each appropriate column.

3.        Make sure that print the name and numbers neatly and carefully so they can be read.

4.        Make sure that you collect the proper amount of money from the person in the form of a cheque made out to SASK-RESCUE.

5.        On October 29th, you will be turning in the master ORDER SHEET with all of your customer names and numbers along with their cheques to your coach.

6.        Please place all of this in an envelope with your name on it so it doesn’t get lost.

7.        Make sure your name and your coach’s name is on the bottom of the master ORDER SHEET so we know who did the fundraising.

We will have all of the items available for pickup on either November 19 or November 26’s practice.  At that time, we will be giving you all of your items along with your master order sheet so you can get the items to the people that bought from you.

Prairie Invitational Lifesaving & Lifeguard Competition

Our club hosts one of the largest and longest running lifesaving & lifeguard competitions in Western Canada every year in the spring.  This year, we are hosting this competition on Saturday, November 25, 2006.

We hope that everyone who is a member of the Lifesaving, Senior Lifesaving, Junior Lifeguard and Lifeguard Clubs will compete in the competition.

Because we host this event, it is necessary that all of our club members do their part to make it a success.  We have always done so in the past and in fact, we are the envy of every organizing committee around as our club members do such a good job of volunteering along with parents and family members.

We will need volunteers to act as in the water victims, on land dry victims, score keepers and hosts.  As a victim, you will be literally getting to act as an injured person either in the water in the water rescue event or on dry land in the first aid event.

We would expect that every member of our club will set aside Saturday, November 25, 2006 to help their club run another excellent event that has teams from across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba competing.

We have included a volunteer form with this newsletter.  We would ask that the club member fills one out and if possible, get someone else to come out and help too, a family member or a friend.  If you need more forms, please ask your coach.  The more volunteers, the better.  Especially for our club members, being a victim ends up being a lot of fun and an excellent learning experience.  Some of our best victims in past competitions have been parents of club members.  If you want to get into the act, fill out a form and come on down.

We greatly appreciate your help with making the 17th Annual Prairie Invitational Lifeguard Competition a success.

For more information on the competition, please go to our website.

Please note that we have added a Junior Instructor Club to our Jan – Apr session.  Check out our website for more information.
