SERVICE

Outreach to the community is a very important part of my daily routine. Some of my recent service activities include:

  • guest lectures at local schools
  • talks at local rock and mineral clubs
  • behind-the-scenes museum tours
  • Elder Hostel offerings at the National Museum of Natural History
  • Working with student and community volunteers

I deeply value the role that scientists play within the larger society. I feel a deep sense of gratitude to be able to work at the Smithsonian Institution, and I try to act as an ambassador to the public whenever the situation arises.

Students and community volunteers often work with me at the museum on various projects and research.

Contact me about having an activity for your organization!
