For more than 20 years, I have enjoyed the privilege of looking at the world with the eyes of microphotography, particularly using the scanning electron microscope (SEM)

Other “big toys” I have used include the environmental scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, phase contrast microscope, and the confocal microscope.
