There
are many excellent and inexpensive restaurants and tapas bars to choose from
and Spain's national dish Paella is not to be missed. There is a vast choice
of local and international dishes to cater for everyone's taste. Teulada itself
has some very good restaurants, tapas bars and its wine is among the most renowned
of the Alicante province. The very good white marina Alta and the award-winning
and acclaimed Muscatel, the latter to which there is a Fiesta to its name in
September.
The
beautiful Jalon Valley with its orange and lemon groves and surrounding mountain
scenery is a very good place to buy local wine. Twenty minutes by car you can
find yourself at the Bodega Cooperativa where you can sample many wines before
you buy. Driving through the valley itself you can see the grapes that are grown
to produce some of these wines in Jalon.
