| In 1981, we
finally bought a SANDRAIL. Actually, it looked more like an
old swing-set that some-one had added a motor to. It was homemade and ugly! But, it did get me back out into the dunes. It had a Corvair engine and went pretty well. However, someone had ground the paddles off the tires! |

I am a high
school teacher. This photo shows one of my ex-students (Terry) who went out with me one day. Yes, we are stuck here. Later the same day we broke down and wound up getting towed out by one of the BIG commercial rigs. Terry showed courage by going out with me again 18 years later (1999). (See photo on right). |

This
is the sandrail that we had in 1981, but it has a new frame. I needed a new frame after breaking the old one on a very small jump. It was a lot of fun transferring everything over to the new frame. I was amazed at how often things could not fit the way they did before. But, I loved the project. Hard to believe it is

This
is my wife, Jackie. While the sun was shining, the wind (note the flag) kept it very cool this day. While Jackie is not a big fan of off- road sand adventures, she does put up with me. I'm glad she does! |
