In contrast to the assimilated elves are the so-called Pureblood elves, six distinct cultures of the Alfr and Jindu races. As with the other modern races, their human name, elf, is a misnomer. These races refer to themselves as the Alfr in the West or as the Jindu in the East. Secretive and mysterious, these Purebloods are a dying breed. Few of them now roam the lands of Samoth and many think them legend. The assimilated elves choose to ignore the lessons and heritage of the Purebloods, finding the concepts outdated. Although few in number, the Purebloods do continue on, striving to hold fast to their traditions and seeking out the wisdom of their ancient ancestors to help solve the mysteries of the current age.
Physical Description: The eha Alfr are tall, thin humanoids with beautiful features and light builds. Their skin is a milky-coffee color, and it reflects sunlight, moonlight, and starlight with a beautiful sheen. Their sparkling eyes can be any color, but blue and dark brown are the most common. Both genders of the eha Alfr wear their hair long and free. A lustrous black or brown is the most common color, but eha Alfr women are fond of hair dyes and so it is not uncommon to see shades of red, blonde, or even pastel blue and purple. The eha Alfr almost never wear facial hair. They range in height from 5'5" to 5'8" with a weight of 1150 to 120 pounds. In general, all eha Alfr possess features that are thought to be "beautiful" by human standards. Even the most average looking eha Alfr female is apt to be regarded as attractive by human males.
Relations: Of all the modern "civilized" races, the eha Alfr enjoy a good relationship with the humans who now dominate the world. Many believe that the elves used their physical attractiveness to their great benefit to ingratiate themselves to the humans, which causes the other races to be bitter toward the elves. The eha Alfr are, for the most part, a gregarious, fun-loving people who at times come across as blithely unaware that they can annoy the other races.
In general, the eha Alfr get along very well with humans and follow their cues as to relations with the other races. In the West, this means that most eha Alfr are apt to accept Oubre (goblins) but distrust and look down upon Shagir and Kobali (dwarves and orcs). Outside of the West where human domination is somewhat minimized, the eha Alfr are often open to most races upon initial contact.
The eha Alfr's greatest dislike is reserved for Pureblood Alfr and Jindu. The Pureblood elves are a symbol of what the eha Alfr used to be like, and they do not tend to like what they see in their past. Whether this is because they do not approve of the actions of the Purebloods, or whether through some sort of guilty longing to return to their truer roots, is unknown.
Eha Alfr Lands: As with the other modern races, the eha Alfr do not tend to live in their own lands. The noble elves are spread throughout the World Continent and live among the humans and other races. Unlike the dwarves and goblins, the eha Aflr do not segregate themselves into separate neighborhoods but rather live right alongside humans, whether in wealth or squalor. Of course, it is highly unlikely to ever find a poverty-stricken eha Alfr, for their physical attractiveness and pleasant personalities usually help them get by.
Eha Alfr Customs: The eha Alfr see themselves as somewhat superior to the other races, as they feel that they easiest adapted to human cultures and customs and do not understand why the other races have not done so. The fact that their physical similarity to humans, and their general level of attractivess, may have helped win them the admiration of the humans is lost upon most eha Alfr. While long-lived, the eha Alfr have a tendency to live for the moment, and constantly try to experience new things: cultures, foods, customs, and philosophies. This natural inquisitiveness and search for new ideas have exposed the eha Alfr to many different theories of magick and to several different fighting styles.
Eha Alfr customs revolve around enjoying life to the fullest. They wear colorful, richly tailored clothes of the latest fashion. While they can be somewhat haughty at times, the noble elves are an open, friendly, and fun people who can find any excuse to plan a party or toast a random occassion with a drink. This openness has also exposed to the eha Alfr to some of the darker things in life, and among the noble elves one can find alcoholics, drug addicts, and even some seduced by the dark powers of evil magick.
