Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter

Our mission...

Mission Statement

Whereas: The Unitarian Universalist Association embraces the Sixth Source: "Spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature," and

Whereas: Earth-centered traditions have been active in Salt Lake City since at least 1980, in support and sustenance of the abovementioned harmony and in maintenance of the Sacred Circle of Life; and

Whereas: There is a significant number of individuals in the Salt Lake area who have no access to small-group resources for learning, sharing, support, spiritual care and counseling upon their personal journeys of earth-centered spirituality; and

Whereas: The Pagan Community in the Salt Lake City area includes many individuals who are desirous of an ongoing, regular congregational support system on their spiritual journeys;

Therefore be it resolved:
In accordance with the principles and practices of the UUA, that the Greater Salt Lake Area Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans be formed by the conjoined Mind and Will of all those here present, and that it have as its primary mission:

  • to be a source of community, teaching, learning, celebration, ministry and worship;
  • to assist in educating and informing those interested in Earth-Centered Spirituality or Unitarian Universalism;
  • to function as a resource for interfaith outreach and community-building;
  • to continue and perpetuate the ideal of "intentional diversity" by outreach to the interfaith community and other alternative communities of Spirit.

Resolved this 16th day of July in the year 2002 CE.
