The Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans (CUUPS) is a community of people within the Universalist Unitarian Association (UUA) who have a broad array of beliefs - generally called Pagan - centering around the basic concept of the inherent worth, dignity and divinity of our world, our people and our communities. We are one of the largest formal Pagan organization in the world.

Area Chapter

As a new organization the Greater Salt Lake Area CUUPS chapter has formally dedicated itself to the the mission of promoting the practice and understanding of Pagan and Earth-centered spirituality within the UUA and other communities of faith. We support and enable the fundamental principles of Unitarian Universalism, encourage networking among Pagan-identified Unitarian Universalists, and provide for the outreach of Unitarian Universalism to the broader Pagan community. We hope to accomplish these goals by offering educational materials on Paganism and Earth-centered spirituality to Salt Lake UU congregations and to the general public.

As Pagans and Unitarian Universalists, it is our desire to create a spiritual community and build relationships with each other and our environment. With a focus on Earth-centered beliefs, we express a cornucopia of traditions, paths and styles of worship in our CUUPS Chapters, UU congregations or inter-congregational groups. Our worship celebrations honor our members' Earth-centered paths - fascinating and rich - as we each weave our unique tradition into a shared tapestry of spiritual expression. Diversity is not simply honored, it is inevitable and welcome!

CUUPS works to promote interfaith dialogue, and encourages the development of theological and liturgical materials based on Pagan and Earth-centered spiritual perspective. CUUPS encourages use of music, dance, visual arts, poetry, story, and creative ritual in worship and celebration, providing spaces for gathering and for worship, and fostering healing relationships with the Earth and all the Earth's children.
