The Fugitive - 1993
This movie was based on the old tv series of the same title.  A doctor comes home to find his wife almost dead, murder.  She had tried to call him, saying that the 'one arm man' was killing her, for him to stop him.  With that message, and her blood all over the doctor, the police arrested him for the murder.  The bus a number of other prisoners were riding in sped down a hill once a prisoner faked a seizure and knocked their driver unconcious.  They were hit broadside by a train, and many escaped.  The doctor helped the shot guards, and then left.  The movie follows the doctor as he hides and runs, all the while trying to gather evidence about the one-armed man.
The Blues Brothers - 1980
After bailing his brother Jake out of jail, Elwood Blues tries to track down every player from their old band, the Blues Brothers.  They want to raise money for an orphanage they were once part of, their "mission for God."  This proves to be difficult in finding and convincing everyone to join up.  There are musical-like moments, and humor in every scene, with Illinois Nazis, cop chases, and run-ins with big stars (for example, Twiggy).
Blues Brothers 2000 - 1998
Elwood Blues is back, and needs to round up the band again, still needing money for another cause.  This time they want to raise money for a needy orphan that followed him after he got out of prison.  This trip takes them all over the South, to a revival, and gaining some new members to the band.  Not quite as funny as the original, but pretty good for a follow-up.
History of the World Part One - 1981
This absolutely hilarious Mel Brooks film takes you through the entire history of the world in just a few hours.  You begin with cave men, and them discovering about everything.  You move onto the French, Spanish Inquisition, Rome, and go through a gigantic fun history lesson.  You'll be rolling around with laughter in only the first ten minutes...it's so great!
Guarding Tess - 1994
This is a cute movie about the former president's wife and her secret service men.  She is headstrong and wants to call all the shots, much to the annoyance of her agents.  They do care about her, though, and everyone is worried when she is kidnapped.  There is humor, but it comes to a point where she gets quite irritating.  Even so, it is a good movie...but I won't reveal the ending...does she tame, or run wild?
The Rocky Movies: Rocky I, II, III, IV, V - 1976, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1985
Rocky is a Philadelphia boxer, the Italian Stallion, who wants to make it big.  After being chosen for an expo fight against the great Apollo Creed, he just may get his chance.  His training, love affair with shy pet store girl Adrian, and his low life are all portrayed in this movie very well.  The second film is the rematch between Rocky and Apollo Creed, along with the wedding of Adrian and Rocky.  The third includes Mr. T fighting Rocky, who now does fights for commercials and show.  The fourth is another expo fight that kills Creed when fighting a huge Russian boxer.  Rocky takes the ring to fight for Apollo.  The last film includes Rocky being a teacher of a young fighter who ends up getting all caught up in the fame and fortune.  These are some of the best movies ever made, and the first only took Sly Stallone 3 days to write!  They're well worth it, even if boxing is not you cup of tea.
Ferris Beuller's Day Off - 1986
Ferris Beuller is a slacker and loves to take random 'days off' from school.  In this movie you follow him, his girlfriend, and his best friend through their day off.  Ferris speaks directly to his audience, which is rarity in movies.  The humor runs high, and it's a lot of fun to watch.
Lassie Come Home - 1943
A poor family from Yorkshire must sell their collie Lassie, their son's best friend, to a rich man who owns many dogs and has a spoiled granddaughter that wants him.  The family needs money, and so sells him.  The boy is heartbroken, but is thrilled when Lassie immedietly runs home to him.  When his father finds him, however, he takes Lassie back to its new owners.  Since Lassie now lives in Scotland, they thought it would be hard for him to run home.  Lassie would not eat and was very sad and sick.  The granddaughter notices, and while out riding horses and walking Lassie, allows him to run home to Yorkshire by not closing the gates in time.  The story follows Lassie as she runs from Scotland all the way to her home in Yorkshire.  It is a classic and touching story, one never to be fogotten.
First Kid - 1996
This is a fun movie about the 'first kid,' the son of the president.  He doesn't like the attention, formality, or protectiveness that comes with it.  He tortures his secret service agents, and that is why his new one is not at all excited.  Though, Agent Simms does try to tame and relax his protectee.  They begin to warm up to each other, even to the point of risking Simms' job.  When the kid goes to the mall secretively to meet an online friend, he is kidnapped by someone in his past, and it is up to Simms to save him.
