Kraken
(Jonathan)

Tzimisce. Kraken was once a luminary of the Sabbat, and was considered one of its wisest and most loyal soldiers. However, since his Embrace nearly half a millennium ago, Kraken's mind was twisted beyond all comprehension. As time progressed, Kraken's insanity grew, and his tastes changed. Many Elders cannot sustain themselves on mortal blood alone, but this usually comes only after extremely long unlives. With Kraken it was only a matter of centuries before kine vitae was not enough. Kraken soon became addicted to Cainite vitae, and as his tastes grew narrower, his hatred for humanity grew.

The Twentieth Century brough with it such new innovation that Kraken was inspired by technology to create his masterpiece: the Gnostic Exterminator. Part machine, part supernatural, the Gnostic Exterminator, powered by the spiritual essence of Lupines - Gnosis - was designed to extinguish humanity wherever its reach would allow. However, it was some seventy years since Kraken's inception of it that the machine was finally built.

In the late twentieth century, Kraken was enlisted by
Cardinal Luis to assist Steve Bradbury in his task of seizing the city of Maiden Newton from Camarilla control. In this, Kraken saw the ideal opportunity to bring his plans to fruitition, for the Lupines of the city were led by the extremely potent Slays-the-Weak. Madness and bloodlust fully
ensnared Kraken, and, unknown to his Sabbat allies, he tracked down and murdered Slays, and took his place as Alpha of the Lupines' Caern. This soon became apparent to Bradbury, but he saw it as an excellent opportunity to use the Lupines against the Camarilla. Thus, Kraken was instructed to lead the Lupines in a war against the Camarilla. Kraken went one step better, and personally led his Lupine followers into the Elysium of Prince Grohl. After some brief banter with the Prince, Kraken and the others destroyed him and his subordinates. The surviving Camarilla fled, and the Sabbat took the city.

Kraken returned to his plans. However, his mental instability was increasing rapidly, and soon
Guides-the-Way, the Beta of the Caern, and his ally Bella-in-Pax, plotted against Kraken/Slays-the-Weak. Kraken saw through this scheming, but it was too late, and his true identity was swiftly revealed. Kraken was cast out of the Caern, and Guides became the new Alpha.

Enraged, Kraken finalised the Gnostic Exterminator, but somehow, the soul of Slays-the-Weak had survived, and had been transferred into Kraken's body. Slays took control of Kraken fully at the last moment, allowing Bella enough time to kill both of them. Kraken was posthumously labeled a traitor to the Sabbat, though in secret he is often revered as the Cainite that allowed the Sabbat to conquer Maiden Newon.
