In 1996, Quicksilver opened its New Zealand division. However, enamoured with the country, Ford soon moved Quicksilver�s headquarters to the New Zealand division, leaving San Francisco as just a subsidiary. In the years that followed, Ford became wealthier than he had ever dreamed, as Quicksilver � having made many tremendous worldwide medical breakthroughs � expanded across the planet.
Today Sebastian Ford ranks as the fifth wealthiest American, and the eleventh wealthiest man in the world. Despite this, he is a lifelong bachelor and has no heir; his will reputedly leaves everything � Quicksilver
As expected, Ford has not got this far completely on his own. He has had many dealings with Cainites, mostly Camarilla Ventrue who hold sway in the business world, and is fully aware of what lies behind the Masquerade. However, all means of determining what Ford himself is have pointed to the conclusion that he is merely a mortal, and not supernatural at all. These means were wrong.
Evidence has come to light proving that Sebastian Ford is in fact Cornelius, a mummy with a fierce vendetta against Priscus Fortesque. After this information was discovered, Fortesque sent the Pack of the White Van, led by Bishop Jemma, to kill Ford. They failed to do so, and Cornelius fled. However, Fortesque was able to arrange for Ford, Quicksilver's founder, to be removed from power, and from the corporation's board of directors altogether, thus severing all links between Cornelius and Quicksilver.
