Ron & Sharon Build a House - Paint and Lights Set the Mood |

The interior and exterior painting was done by Michael J's Painting great crew. They had several special requests, including Ron's idea to handpaint the arches a darker color to make the arch details stand out, and finished the job in remarkable time.
There are 14 interior paint colors, including my upstairs office in a Highland Moss....which many think is a little too green. The paint is all from Dunn Edwards and, with the texture the drywallers applied, makes most of the walls look like plaster. The paint really gives the house some great character.
Ron helped the process by chaulking every door frame, nook and crack that he could find and doing some touch-up work on the trim.
The crew from Pegasus Electric has been installing the 60+ light fixtures, switches, outlets, and other assorted electrical items. The items included my much ridiculed chandeliers for the back porch....Jim Kight thinks it is too much .....but I like the living room look it creates. |

Above and Below: This is the art niche leading from the front hall to the Living Room (aka The Elephant Room) and the arch to the left leads to the Dining Room. The Living Room was painted Jakarta. In the lower photo, you can see the tile floor that looks like wood planking. (note-flash washed out the wall color.) |

This is the arch on the upstairs landing. You can see the contrast between the inside of the arch and the walls. The hall lights match the downstairs fixtures. |

The back patio has 3 ceiling fans, 2 light fixtures, canned lights, a summer kitchen and a "secret garden." The tile and lights have been installed. Next Bill will give us electricity. |
