Ron and Sharon Build a House -
Tile & Granite Surfaces Abound
Local tile layer Jimmy Kight and John Nash's Tehachapi team have been working many hours to lay the miles of tiles.  We have tile floors in all of the bathrooms, the laundry room, downstairs hall, living room, dining room, kitchen, family/great room, balconies, office, dining courtyard, back porch, back splashes, and the interior & exterior stair risers.    There is a lot of tile in this house.

One of our favorite tiles is the stuff that looks like wood.  We put it in the office upstairs, the entry hall, living room and dining room.  Really neat stuff and it looks wonderful.

Artistic Creations of Bakersfield did a beautiful job on our granite countertops.  We used granite for all the bathrooms, laundry room, morning kitchen, and kitchen.

One of the more interesting rooms is my "dungeon" powder room with dark slate tiles on the floor and walls, a black sink & toilet and dark wood painted door.
The creation of the spa in the Guest Suite Bathroom.  We wanted the feel of tumbled stone and earthy colors.  Clockwise:  Top - the sink area gets a mud job; the shower gets started, the shower is completed; the finished sink area.
One of two mosaics in the tile floor.  One is in the Butler's Pantry and the other is at the entrance to the Master Bedroom.
The Living Room floor getting tile installed.  The tile looks like wood planks and has an aged feel.
Above & Below:  My office has a ceiling fan with leather blades, a half moon window, soft green walls, and the wood tile floor.
The Morning Kitchen in the Guest Suite has a granite counter, stainless steel sink and appliances, and dark milk chocolate tiles on the back splash and floor.
Balcony tile floor.
Guest Suite Landing
Entry Hall of the Guest Suite.
Stairs to the Guest Suite.
The interior stairs have tiles on the risers and wood treads.
Powder room gets it's tile and black sink ....my black toilet will get put in soon.
More pictures will be added on a second page......steam bath photos and the laundry room... still lots of tile to install!

Finished the laundry room March 1, 2004.

Finished the steam bath June 30, 2004.
Guest Bath in progress. The walls are light green and the tiles are a mossy green.
