The concept of the house is to have several different rooflines and heights to create the feel of a small village. There will be walled courtyards around the house and a large "folly" for the entrance. There will be lots of nooks to sit, nap or read!
The "folly" is a 17 foot tall portico on the front of the house which will connect the garage & laundry room building and the main entrance. It will have a large 4 foot wide, 8 foot tall door which will open into the interior courtyard.
Even the mechanical room is being framed to look like a small building with extra detailing on it's roofline.
And Arches.....there are arches outside, inside, arched doors, arched windows, even arches in the master bathroom tub.....the carpenters hate me...but we have arches to spare! |

We've used up alot of the lumber delivered from Terry's Lumber in Bakersfield...That back patio is 36 feet long. |
