Ron & Sharon Build a House - Using Sticks and Concrete to make Courtyards & Patios.
Hey, we live in the desert and might as well take advantage of being able to eat outside without having the bugs carry off dinner.  When we lived in Lafayette, Louisiana and you didn't eat outside unless you had a hundred of those stinky candles!

There are over 1500 sq feet of finished exterior living space.  There will be exterior living spaces on all sides of the house.  The outside "living" spaces will all have ceiling fans, exterior speakers, control panels to the audio system, and tile or stamped concrete floors.

The back patio will have 3 ceiling fans and an outdoor kitchen.

The central courtyard will have three areas:  the center will be an outdoor living room, the "hallway" with a fountain connecting to the hot tub and side gate.

The courtyard off the dining room will have a stone fireplace perfect for supper under the stars on cooler evenings.
Surprise...Ron checking out the handywork
Looking up the exterior stairs to the landing of the Guest Suite.  The hot tub will be around the corner to the left.
Looking down the stairs into the courtyard from the balcony to 2nd floor Guest Suite
The outdoor living room with the exterior stairs to the right.  The dining room is through french doors to the left.  Photo to left shows dining room door & hall window.
Dining room courtyard framing includes two open windows which will have wooden shutters to close when windy.
The fireplace framing adds shape to the dining room's courtyard wall.  The two windows are the living room at the front of the house.
The fireplace installed and ready for the walls to have stucco and the stone for the fireplace applied.
Ron pondering the world while sitting in the carriage seat in the portico which is ready to be wrapped.
Ron peaks his head out of the master bathroom's water closet....this area will be Sharon's "secret garden" outside the garden tub.
The main courtyard's hot tub area has a small open window which will be closed with wooden shutters. The arched entry to the courtyard has been framed. The black speaker holders were installed for exterior audio.
The back walls of the "secret garden" and patio will make the area useable even though this side faces the prevailing winds from the southeast.
Bird's eye view of the secret garden and dining room court yards.
