TATTOOS/PIERCINGS/SCARS: She has tribal markings around her legs, wings, eyes, and ears. She also has a long scar on her left side running diagonally from the base of her neck to her flank. Several minor scars decorate her left and right hindquarters.
LIKES: Kai, blood, violent thunderstorms, freedom, flying, fighting, and hunting.
DISLIKES: Tomoyami, Nemesis, evil forces, and being held captive.
PERSONALITY: High strung, wild, short tempered, mysterious, and fierce. She is a loner and will only associate with Kai and sometimes even the smallest noise or movement can set her off. When she senses something wrong, she goes ballistic. She cares for Kai greatly and almost sees the Spliced Eye vampire girl as a sort of daughter.
BIOGRAPHY: An alicorn with a unique demonic appearance, no one knows when or how she came into existence. Legend states that she is the sole creator of vampires, the �mother� of the Black Eye and Patina races. Some say that she is as old as time itself and was created by God and cursed by the Devil. Other say that the two created her together and that she brings forth life and death.
Mirage first appeared to Kai (known as Jubilee before she turned vampire), when the girl was playing in the forest. Mirage disappeared when Jubilee saw her supposedly dead brother, Zachariah (who had been turned into a vampire), drinking Beatrix�s blood. When Zachariah fled and Jubilee went to Beatrix�s side, Mirage appeared and killed Beatrix before she became a vampire, freeing her soul. Mirage appeared again years later the night Jubilee became a vampire. Mirage watched everything calmly and silently, disguised as a black cat with silver eyes. After Nemesis turned Jubilee, Mirage stayed near her grave before disappearing into the forest a few hours before Jubilee awoke. Mirage reappeared to the new vampire and walked across the pond she was kneeling at. When the sun rose, Mirage led Jubilee to a cave where she renamed the vampire girl Kai. Since that day, Mirage has traveled with Kai for over eight hundred years.
When Kai began residing at the Imaad household, Mirage stayed with her. When not watching over Kai, Mirage spends her free time hunting and evading capture, always on the alert for vampires striving to hold the mare captive to end the warring dispute between the three vampire races.
QUIRKS: She drools blood, which she seems to do a lot of the time. Unlike most equine related creatures, Mirage has sharp carnivorous teeth, which she uses for fighting and eating. She usually preys on other animals and would not hesitate to take down another alicorn for her meals, but she also grazes on grass. Her bite is powerful enough to effortlessly rip through steel without causing any damage to her incisors. She is extremely unique not just because of her appearance, but also because she is the object that each vampire race is striving to capture. If one breed of vampire gains possession of Mirage, they can use the dark mare to wipe out the other vampire races (mainly the Spliced Eye vampires since they tend to be some of the most powerful; but whether Mirage would be able to kill Nemesis is unknown). Her build may be feminine, but she is stronger that most stallions. Not only is her anatomy unique, but so is her biography. She has a bit of a hormone imbalance. The female hormone, estrogen, is highly outnumbered by the male hormone, testosterone. This also explains her aggressive nature. Some legends state that Mirage is the creator of vampires, that she gave birth to the first Black Eye and Patina vampires and that they created fledglings and developed their races (the Spliced Eye vampires were never meant to exist and were solely created by Nemesis alone). Whether this is true or not has never been proven. It is true that she is seen as a weapon by all three vampire races and she solely has the power to wipe out all of the vampires of the world. Mirage often takes the form of a black cat with silver eyes to travel around easier. She does not like Tomoyami because of his attitude. The cocky stallion often challenges Mirage and the two fight, usually Mirage winning. Disliking evil forces, it is only natural for Mirage to hate Nemesis. She also despises the dark creature because he created the third vampire race that was never meant to exist and is putting the world (and the universe, for that matter), in danger.

THOUGHTS: Not all alicorns are the picture perfect image that we see in our mind�s eye. I made Mirage as unique as I possibly could and I�m very pleased with the outcome. She took Kai under her wing both from maternal instincts and to teach the traumatized girl to survive (and possibly because she knows that Kai�s reincarnation and her yami will play a key role in saving the universe in the future). A sort of camaraderie was formed and Mirage most likely knew what would happen to the girl; that she would become a vampire and that in the future, she would find her soul�s reincarnation, who in turn would develop a strong rivalry against Nemesis. It�s because of him that the Spliced Eye vampires came into existence, it�s because of him that Kai became who and what she was. Mirage doesn�t particularly care which vampire race wipes out the others and becomes dominant; she knows her fate, but she despises being held captive. There are two possible outcomes: either she will eventually be captured by one of the vampire races and used to wipe out the other races or the vampires will stop warring with each other and solve their differences. Whether Mirage would be destroyed after being used to kill off the vampires is unknown.
