Ludus Nepana
The land of Nepana is one of the most unknown in the world.  It is one massive forest and is the homeland of the elves of Kryastal as well as several thousand species of animal and plant life.  On this isle the goddess Gaea reigns supreme.  Next to the secretive druids, Gaea's cleric-priests, the elves are the most attuned to the goddess.  The infinite varieties of plant life are possible in part thanks to the magic of the Nepana Mages Guild School, who work with the elves to maintain and protect the forests.  All people who call Nepana home live in complete harmony with nature.
The population is made up primarily of three groups.  The druids have been on Nepana for as far back as anyone can remember, but very little is known of them.  These guardians of nature serve the earth goddess, Gaea, in a dual role as both cleric and priest.  Clerics are priests dedicated to a deity who take up arms in defense of their faith, but druids abhor violence and use it only as a last resort.  The most recent addition to Nepana's population is the Nepana Mages Guild School.  Mages of this guild draw upon the living forest to cast their spells.  The guild received its name from the land where their school resides.  The school was put there by
Izneria, the god of magic, with the permission of the druids and at the encouragement of the elves who have many of their race in the guild.  But it is the elves, with their clan-based society, which make up the bulk of Nepana's population.
The elven clans of this land were once united to form the kingdom of Antaislekal after the Vampire War, but this did not last.  Since the birth of life on Kryastal, the elves had lived seperately as clans, family groups, with only loose ties to each other.  Each clan controlled its own piece of land that was completely independent from any other.  Feuds existed between many of them, such that any thought of them all uniting together was unheard of.  However, facing genocide at the hands of the vampires forced the clans together.  After the war, the war council decided the clans should remain allied and the first united elven kingdom was established.  But not long after, the clan rivalries and feuds resurfaced once the common threat which had bound them together was gone.  The war council, itself, began to break down with two members fighting to keep the kingdom together and the other three wishing to return to the old clan ways.  A civil war quickly erupted.  In just a few short years, it was all over.  Those who supported the old ways won out.  The ones that had fought for unification, the clans of Starwind and Greymoon, were banished from the forests of Nepana.  Many left to settle in small groups throughout the rest of Kryastal, but a great number of the vanquished descended to the caverns located deep below their former home.  There they formed the underground kingdom that would become known as Drowlekal.  Their former territories were divided up among the three remaining clans: Cyprushawk, Greatwolf, and Whiteoak.  The old ways had returned.
