Researcher Charlotte Hughes Brown noted that Peter and Isham Baugh were very active in the life of Henrico County with a number of annotations in the legal proceedings of the various courts, along with Thomas Baugh, which centered on the witness of wills and the taking of inventory of estates of the deceased, showing ample cause to place Peter and Isham as sons of James Baugh.
