CONSTITUTION - Articles VI - IX 
ARTICLE VI: ELECTION OF OFFICERS
SECTION 1: ELEGIBILITY
A. All nominees must be in good standing, academically and be
active members.
SECTION 2: WHEN NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS SHOULD OCCUR
A. Nominations will be taken at the first or second meeting after
our return from spring recess.
B. Elections will be held at the meeting following the one where
nominations are accepted.
SECTION 3: OFFICIATING OF ELECTIONS
A. The Parliamentarian (Sergent of Arms) or the Vice President
shall preside over the election.
B. A person running for office shall not preside over the
election; instead the president shall appoint someone to preside
under such circumstances.
SECTION 4: VOTING
A. All members in good standing with the organization are eligible
to vote.
B. Absentee ballots are permitted, but they mustbe given to the
presiding officer in a sealed envelope at least one day before the
election. The sealed envelopes shall not be opened until the election
takes place.
C. A member cannot hold the same office consecutively. There has
to be a year lapse for re-election to the same position.
D. Voter eligibility shall be determined by the most current
membership list on file with the Student Activities Office, at the
time of elections. Membership list updated or additions submitted
less than 30 working days prior to the date of election are not valid
for such elections.
ARTICLE VII: IMPEACHMENT
A complaint made by an officer must be stated to the Executive
Board. There must be a formal investigaion (where necessary) and a
report must be given to the Executive Board, which then decides
whether or not the issue merits general body involvement/vote.
ARTICLE VIII: SUCCESSION OF OFFICERS
A. If the president cannot fulfill his/her duties any longer, the
Vice President will assume the position and all its responsibilities
for the remainder of the term.
B. If the Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer cannot fulfill
their duties any longer the President will temporarilly appoint
someone to these positions within one week after the positions become
open.
C. An election will be held immediately to
elect another officer. Nominations will be taken one week before the
emergency elections.
ARTICLE IX: THE EXECUTIVE
BOARD
An Executive Board shall direct the affairs of this organization.
Members of this committee will be the President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer and three other members to be appointed by the
President. One of these will be appointed to the office of
Chairperson and will be the presiding officer at the Executive Board
meetings.
