MISSION

TWESE is a community of friendship for the purpose of discussion and exchange of ideas among African students at Rutgers.
TWESE serves as a primary source of information on Africa within Rutgers and strives to combat the myths, stereotypes and
mis-representation that have distorted Western knowledge of Africa.
The purpose of TWESE is to educate the campus and its surrounding community about the issues affecting Africa and its peoples. Also, TWESE' s aim is to be responsive to the needs of improving the quality of life of all Africans and non-Africans alike at Rutgers University.
Other roles that we play are to:
Provide information and update members on issues concerning Africa and the diaspora.
Organize talks, lectures, and debates on African issues.
Provide a sense of identity in the midst of cultural diversity.
Increase cultural and social interaction among members.
Cordinate tutorial and academic assistance for association members.
