Target Groups
Birthright          Reform          Greek            Freshmen              Ross Fellows
At the start of the year, you will sit down with your supervisors and choose about four target groups to focus on throughout the year.  These will be chosen based on what groups of Jewish students on campus need the most engagement. Click here for my definitions of engagement and empowerment.  You must also take into consideration what students you can relate to best and believe you will be most successful working with.

I chose four target groups for the fall semester:

Birthright alumni and recruitment
Reform
Freshmen
Greek

I personally related to each of these groups of students so my energy was best suited to work in those areas.  First semester, I had much success with the Birthright program and started making steps in connecting with the Greek studetns.  At the start of the semester when the FYSH (First Year Students at Hillel) program started up, I had difficulty establishing my role in conjunction with the HLC Welcome Chair.  After that initial struggle, I did not do much more outreach to the freshmen community.  I worked closely with the Reform Chair on the HLC but we made little progress in improving attendance of the Reform students.

Gradually, through the first semester, my focus began to change, leaving me with somewhat different target groups in the spring semester.

These new target groups for the Spring semester included:

Greek (Jewish Fraternity Sorority Council)
Birthright Recruitment
Ross Fellows/Outer Campuses
Reform
