Those are the e-mails I had a chance to send. There are many other memories. Ive been home a week and a day, and Im still processing the whole experience. St. Petersburg is my new favorite city, and I want to go back soon. But theres the fear of disappointment. This was such a wonderful trip for so many reasons, its hard to imagine theyd all come together again. The weather was perfect. Our trip leaders, Dick and Jane Carter, had been to St. Petersburg so many times, and they had sown the seeds of friendship so firmly, that we were invited places the average tourist doesnt even dream of. We met real people at real church lunches, and we saw the projects our donations have supported over the years. And the whole group, all nine of us, meshed together and helped each other have the trip of a lifetime. |
