St. Isaac's Cathedral
The great gold dome of St. Isaac'e Cathedral stands above the human-scaled buildings of St.Petersburg's central city.  It's an Orthodox cathedral, but it was built over three decades in a Classical style.  It's said to be the fourth-largest cathedral in Europe.
It's now a state museum, but services are held here on major religious holidays, and women are expected to cover their heads to enter the chapel.
