Melbourne School of Continental Philosophy Political Forum -- the forum consists of short posts which seek to address events of political significance in Australian and international life from a philosophical perspective. It aims to provide a space for philosophical contributions to political debate generally absent from Australian media and culture.

CHIMP -- a research group, based at Sydney University, that connects people with interests in the conceptual, philosophical and historical foundations of modern physic; mailing list discussion and face-to-face meetings

Symposium on Gender, Race and Philosophy -- These web symposia provide opportunities for philosophers and other scholars to discuss current work on race and gender. The aim is to make feminist philosophy and philosophy of race more visible to academic philosophers and others; to provide a forum for feminists and race theorists to respond rapidly to recent philosophical contributions to their fields; and to provide a forum for sustained and productive conversations between philosophers, feminists and race theorists.

British Undergraduate Philosophy Society: "Provocations Online" -- Two new topics are offered each month for open debate via e-mail. All undergraduate level philosophers are invited to participate.

Diametros: An Online Journal of Philosophy -- at our discussion forum, three-day-long debates (Internet symposia) are conducted among previously invited guests approximately twice every quarter.

Platonic Society -- casual philosophy meeting every Wednesday during semester -- 4pm-5pm at the SAM Bar, Macquarie University.

Philosophy radio program -- philosophical debate and excursion, hosted by postgraduates of the La Trobe University Philosophy Program. On air every Friday, from 2pm-4pm, on Sub FM. Streamed online at the Sub FM website.

Philosophy Talk -- radio program; one hour weekly broadcasts on philosophy; archives of past shows available from website

The Philosopher's Zone -- weekly philosophy show with Alan Saunders on ABC Radio National, Saturdays at 1.30pm, repeated on Wednesdays at 9.35pm; 576AM in Sydney

Humanist Society -- non-profit organisation that encourages a rational approach to human problems; has open forums every Wednesday in Chippendale, and an additional discussion the second Sunday of every month

Philosophy cafe -- a philosophy forum meeting fortnightly on Tuesdays on Norton Street in Leichhardt (currently on hold for an indefinite period)

Philorum -- a philosophy forum that meets in the Gaelic Club in Surry Hills on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month

Philo Agora -- meets every second Tuesday in Glebe; someone will present a paper, then a microphone gets passed around the room for people to respond

Blackheath Philosophy Forum -- meets every second Saturday in the upper Blue Mountains; conducts fora series on particular subjects

St James Ethics Centre -- organisation providing a forum for the promotion and exploration of ethics and ethical decision-making; "ethical circle" events are organised about once or twice a month on Tuesdays in Inner Sydney; workshops, training, counselling are frequently organised; there's a large number of things to read and do at the website

Sydney Bioethics Seminar Series -- run across the year, often in association with the Unit for the History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Sydney

2nd Tuesday Philosophy Forum -- meets second Tuesday of every month in the Crowns Nest Centre in Crows Nest; format sometimes includes debates and workshops (currently on hold for an indefinite period)

Steki Taverna -- happens about once a month in Newtown, usually on Thursdays; Greek banquet combined with performance, philosophy talk and discussion; organized by Dr Edward Spence

Continental Philosophy Group -- not just about Continental philosophy; meets second Sunday of the month (at 3pm) in Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre on the corner of Collins and Norton Streets; format involves a paper and discussion

Cafe Scientific -- an expert panel discussion, addressing scientific and science-and-philosophy issues, fielding questions from the audience, that takes place about six times a year in various venues throughout Sydney

Sydney Seminar for the Arts and Philosophy -- "an attempt to create a space in which academics, artists, journalists, arts advocates and the public can exchange ideas about what art is and what it can do". Panel discussions held a few times a year.
