April 2003

This series was taken in the early evening (18/4/2003) so they are a bit dark but this gave me a chance to highlight the lighting as well as hide all the defects!

This is a lifelike GP-38 repainted in Indonesian Railways (Perumka) colours. It was my first attempt at mimicking a phototype.

Hornby Clan line coming down the main line.

Hornby Clan line and a Lifelike GP-38 coming down the main lines

Overall view of layout from top. 6' x 4'

Lifelike GP-38 Sante Fe. Bought 3 of these because they were going cheap.

Close up of GP-38 repainted in Perumka colours. The photo's I took in Tanjung Enim was the research for this project. Also my first attempt at weathering

Clan Line yet again

October 2003

Latest series of photo's taken 12/10/03, still a lot of work to go but some areas are progressing, still need to add more people and detail to each scene.

The 0-6-0 tank engine on the turntable

Annie and Clarabel smile as they are being hauled by Thomas

One of three carriages of similar type from Lima

Hornby Class 2800 with a whisper of smoke coming from the chimney stack

The Class 37's are hauling a rake of hoppers that are being loaded with coal

The Hornby crane puts a wagon back on the tracks

The diesel as seen through the coal loading hopper at the coal mine

Procor hoppers, designed for cement but use mine for coal

MGR's being loaded by the crane

The mine workers clean up some coal

Overall view with turntable and mine complete, mountain to be added in the back

Hornby 0-4-0 Pug

Hornby's new pullman coaches, hard to keep on the track

Weathered 0-4-0 shunter

0-4-0 shunter

Reasonably successful (in my mind anyway) attempt at extreme weathering a Hornby 0-4-0 shunter

Thomas is always happy to chug around the layout

The controller watches two shunters from the signal tower

Lima 4-6-2

IHC sound car, choofs as it travels along
