Tanjung Enim DepotThese are photo's that I took at the Tanjung Enim depot in South Sumatra, Indonesia. From Bukit Asam's coal mine in Tanjung Enim, the coal trains travel either North to the port of Kertapati in Palembang (approx. 164 kms) where the coal is loaded onto flat-top barges for transportation along the Musi River or to the Southeast to Tarahan port in Lampung (approx. 420 kms) where the coal is loaded onto ocean-going vessels. Coal trains average 46 units of 50 tonne hopper cars for a total capacity of 2,300 tonnes of coal per trip. CC201118 featured in the photographs below was originally built by General Electric and subsequently rebuilt in 1993. It's power output is rated at 1,340 Kw and has a Co-Co configuration. JakartaThese are photo's that I have taken in Jakarta. On the weekend's I sometimes ride my bike and take a few snaps at the nearby railway line, this is about the extent of my railfanning activities.
Taman MiniThese are photo's I took on our visit to the Transport Museum in Taman Mini, Jakarta. Despite being a bit rundown and neglected this is actually a very good museum. We also got to ride in the cab of their demonstration train.
