An excerpt from Chapter Eight
The Banishment
   

      
Runs Like Wind ran swiftly across the plains, away from his camp and into the black night air. Tears poured from his eyes, running down his cheeks and neck, soaking his braided hair. He had never cried so many tears before in his young life. His vision was blurred. He could hardly see what was in front of him. There was no moon to light his way. The dimly lit tepees of his camp dimmed more and more with each stride he took.
