RUNS LIKE WIND - THE VISION QUEST
An excerpt from Chapter Ten
The Vision Quest

The boy began his climb up the side of the canyon wall. He made quick time of it, reaching the top before the sun had climbed high into the sky. The boy quickly cleared a small area of rocks and sat with his legs crossed. He did the only thing he could do. He waited.
Hours passed though it seemed like days. Runs Like Wind had not moved from his spot. He was already feeling the hand of hunger as it tightened its grasp on his empty stomach. The sun had climbed over his head and was ever so slowly descending in front of him. Its glare made the boy's eyes tired. But he dare not fall asleep.
