The Ruff Ryders are a diverse group of guys from a wide variety of backgrounds. We are very accepting and welcoming to everyone, but we have a relatively strict procedure by which someone can become a member of the Ruff Ryders. You should live somewhere in the Northern Indiana/South Bend region. You should have transportation and have a job that allows to to participate in weekend events. You should also be above the age of 18, and this one we will explain further: Many IAA events require parental consent for minors or prohibit minors altogether from participating. As a squad we really don't have the means (or patience) to deal with the paperwork of covering our butts in the event that a minor gets injured on our property. We also have member(s) who teach in the local school system, and the NEA as well as most school corporations have strict policies about teachers being involved in activities with students outside of school. That being said, in some circumstances we MAY make exceptions, but it is definitely on an individual basis.
Most importantly of all, the Ruff Ryders are members of the Indiana Airsoft Association, an organization of Indiana airsofters who are dedicated towards promoting our hobby in a responsible and safe way. All potential RR recruits must agree to follow their rules and regulations at all times. Anyone who violates those rules will be banned from the IAA and all IAA events. If someone from our team is violated by the IAA it will undoubtedly reflect on us as a whole, and we are dedicated to make sure that we only bring the finest players to the field when we go to events. If you are an IAA member, have attended an IAA event, or are otherwise already involved in airsoft you should contact our C/O Jinx on our forums (link located to the left). The best way to join is to contact us there and then hook up with Jinx or another RR member out in the field at an event.
If you are new to airsoft and want to join, great, we love bringing fresh blood to the hobby. If you are new to the hobby and want to join you should get on our forums and introduce yourself before anything else. We will contact you and set up a time to get lunch somewhere with several RR members so that we can talk to you face-to-face. At this point the team will be able to advise you on getting introduced to the hobby. We will probably get you out to our team field in Bristol and loan you an AEG to play with so that you can cut your teeth and get a feel for the squad. At this point if we accept you into our ranks you will be inundated with e-mails and forum posts pointing you to the best, cheapest gear and other airsoft resources.
So, in short, if you want to join us you need to get on our forums and introduce yourself!
