As soon as you enter into chat, you will see that the big rectangle in the middle is the screen where the chatters post texts and on the right hand side, you would find the chatters list.
Below that you would have several tools to enhance your chat experience.
Just look immediately below the main chat screen. For instance, we have the 'options' tab at the bottom left which I would talk about in the next page.
Next to it you have the 'Fade' box which if ticked would fade your text while posting, a preset is always there, you can customise it by clicking on the options button and clicking on 'select a fade'.
Then we have the 'Bold' box, which, if ticked, would post your text in bold letters, the 'Italics' box which, if ticked, would italicise your text and post them and then we have the 'Underline' box, which, if ticked, would underline your posts.
Then we have the 'Font Colour' box which would shade your font with a particular colour. There are so many to choose from.
Next to it we have the 'Font Selector' where you can choose your font from the innumerable fonts provided.
Beside that we have the 'Font Size' box where you can limit the size of your font.
Beside them we have the 'Zoom In' and 'Zoom Out' tabs which can increase/zoom the size of the chat room posts and vice-versa.
Next to it we have the 'Smiley Selector' where you can choose from more than scores of smileys to make others feel your persona in chat.
Then we have one more button which is an important one, it is the 'Change Room Button'. Press this and a list would pop-up containing the categories of rooms.
Just next to it we have the 'Load up Voice' button throuch which you can engage in efficient voice chat.
Next to it we have a 'command' box with various commands. These commands perform different functions, I have a list of them with me which could be termed comprehensive and I would discuss them with you in the following pages.
After that, we have the 'Enable/Disable Pm Settings' box with the help of which you can control your instant messages.
Below the tools is another small rectangle box where you type in your text.
Coming to the Menus at the top.
The manual is categoried by menu options from left to right. Each menu category has it's own page. The links on the left will guide you to find what you need as quickly as possible. .
Yahoo-->Login: This is the login screen where you fill in your Yahoo Id and password. There is a cookie refresh option which you keep you connected as Yahoo changes your cookie frequently. There is an option to choose which room you start to chat in. Y!mLite also has three Yahoo protocols you can log into and Sparter Chat which is the author's own server which only Y!mLite can log into. Not always operational.
Yahoo-->Disconnect: This option will disconnect you from Yahoo.
Yahoo-->Clear Chat Text: Will clear the screen of all of the current chat. Use it to wipe anything which someone might read off your screen or when you re-log back in to stop confusion as it will clear all of the chat buffer.
Yahoo-->Y!Options: This feature is jam packed with a lot of options, all to many to describe here so I will just list the menu bar options;
Layout/Colours/Flood Filter Level/Clones/Alerts/Misc/Proxy/PM Settings.
Let us discuss them one after the other:
Click on Yahoo and select Y!Options and click the
Layout.
Memo Options
CR/LF on Enter - This will make the enter button create a new line when pressed rather than send the text into the room.
Send on Enter - This will send the text into the room when you press the enter key.
Fonts & Sizes
All Fonts & Sizes - This will allow all fonts and sizes to be displayed.
Font Size - This will display other posts using your font size.
Plain Text - This will display other posts in plain font size.
Font No Bigger - This will display font no bigger that selected size.
Display Tattoos: This will try to display tattoos used by other chat clients.
Chat Buffer: Default set 300 leave this pretty much alone and don't worry what it does.
Tick to enable transparency 2000/XP users only: This makes windows transparent see threw in other words takes up memory to use this.
Global Image: This does not appear to work in ymlite so ignore global image and enable global image.
Ugly Time Stamping To Chat Room: This adds time stamps to everyone post.
Display Y!mLite Tray Icon: This puts Y!mLite icon into the systray.
Chatters list box (right side of the screen) font size: This changes the font size on the user list.
All the buttons you see near the bottom
Move voice bar to top - Places the voice controls to the top of the screen.
Move voice bar to the bottom - moves voice controls to the bottom of the screen.
Move font bar to top - Moves the font controls to the top of the screen
Move the font bar to the bottom - Moves the font controls to the bottom of the screen.
Move chatter box left - Moves the box people post in to the left
Move chatters box right - Moves the box people type in to the right of the screen.
Move programmable buttons to top - Moves the programmable buttons to the top of the screen.
Move programmable buttons to bottom - Moves the programmable buttons to the bottom of the screen.
Move alert bar to top - Moves the alert bar to the top of the screen
Move alert bar to bottom - Moves the alert bar to the bottom of the screen.
Colors
Your ID Color - Color of your id
Their ID Color - Color of users ID typing in the room.
Color of buddy's ID - Color for people on your friends list id when they type in the room.
Color ID: This will color your id which is displayed in the room and other ymlite users will be able to say your color id simply select which color u want.
Display other color id's: This allows you to see others peoples color id's.
Chatters List Box
Male users color - Color of people who are male chatters
Female color - Color of people who are female chatters.
Male with cam - Color of male chatters who have there webcam switched on.
Female with cam - Color of female chatters who have there webcam switched on.
Background col - Color of the user list background.
Background Colors
Main input box color (where you type) - Change color of the box where you type in.
Main chat screen color - Change color of the screen where other people type.
Other
Highlight Chatters Fade - will fade highlighted users with fade you can also make there colors invert.
Flood Level Filter.
Security
Flood Super High - Sets flood filter level to high blocks almost everything.
Anti Flood High - Default flood filter level.
Anti Flood medium - Sets flood level to medium good for is ymlite filtering to many posts.
Anti Flood Low - Sets the flood level to low.
No Flood protection - No protection against floods.
Smart Filter
Bot Filter AA1 Family - This will filter the AA1 bots.
Anti Room Flood Bots Algo - This will filter mass bots that try fill the room up or try to lag by leaving/joining fast!
Alicia Bot detection Group - Not exactly sure what this does but i would say keep it on.
20/30/40's love room bots - Will filter most bots that are in the 20's 30's and 40's love rooms.
hidden text Bot Filter - Will filter bots who hide text using html codes etc to make there text white.
Ignore on first post url - Bots normally post links soon as they hit a room this will filter those bots!
YahElite porn Bot Filter - Will filter most bots who use elite to spam.
New spam profile bot filter - Think this will filter bots using profile info in the room.
Other Filters
Filter my buddys/friends - This will Filter apply the filters to the people on your friends list as well.
Scan the user last x posts for repeated accuracies - This will scan the set amount of posts for repeated ones and filter them.
If repeated post is over xx% of match found then block the post - This will set the level of repeated post the lower the % the more repeated posts it will block (If you find ymlite filtering to many repeat posts then alter this)
The Number Filter - This will ignore long numbers that bots will posts in rooms etc.
Custom Spam/Flood Filter - In this box you can enter word for ymlite to filter like cam2cam and if you check the checkbox that says when checked ignore the person it will not filter but instead ignore the person.
When checked if any id's that come into the room math auto ignore the ID - This is handy for when bots with the same name flood your room for example names like flood_killa_001, flood_killa_002 etc you would just enter flood_killer and it would ignore all id's that contain flood_killer in it.
Auto ignore user after x blocked posts - Will auto ignore a user if they get blocked the set amount of times.
ID Ignore - This pretty use less but it lets you ignore anyone using certain chat clients.
Block the post if more than x smiley's are in post - Will block the post if they post the set amount of smiley's.
Give option to Remove from ignore in chat room - This will put there names in a box allowing u to remove them easy un-check and you will have to un-ignore the hard way.
Show room enter leaves (buddies) - Will show enters and leave messages from friends and not filter them.
Clones.
Enable Clone Scan - This will enable scanning of cloned names.
If a match found over xx display in the bar at top - This will scan for cloned name that match set amount% and show it in the alert bar or if you check the box or when this ticked display in room it will post the names of the clones in the room for all to see.
If Clone detected of a buddy instantly ignore it - If it finds a clone of a id on your friends list it will put the clone id on ignore.
Block room enter/leave messages if this is a clone of another id xx - Will block names that enter leave that match the set amount%.
Or when this is ticked display in room - will display clone alert in the chat room for all to see.
Alerts.
Make the "Who said your ID" box popup after X number of posts - Will pop up a box showing you who has said your id and what they have said.
Alert ID - Color of id of the person who says your name.
Alert User Box when your id/custom name gets mentioned x or more times popup a box with the posts - When you name gets mentioned this many times it will pop up a box.
Post publically who is attempting to boot you - Will post in the room names of anyone who trying to boot you.
Display graphical avatar alert - Not sure what this is.
Miscellaneous.
Set MP3 Path - Set the path where your mp3's are so u can use ymlite built in mp3 player.
Build MP3 DB - Will build a list of the mp3's that are in your mp3 folder.
Max Smiley Limit Per Post x - Sets the max smiley's that can be posted.
Check for dropped connection every xx Minutes and re-connect if dropped - Checks to see if yahoo dropped the connection if it has it will attempt to reconnect.
Autosave ignore list and settings every 13 minutes - Will save your settings for the ignore list every 13 minutes just incase ymlite crashes you won't lose the info.
Use () on AutoComplete of ID - When you use the auto complete of user name it will put brackets around it.
Logging (New and Approved) \ymlite\logs - Will log chat automatically..
Nobles Anti Ignore Emote option - This i have no clue what it does best left un-checked.
xxx Delay speed of MultiPacked Text - Will delay the speed that multiline posts will be displayed in chat.
Auto ignore Voice on enter - Will ignore everyone on voice until you un-ignore them.
Display Auto Ignore Emotes when ignore is enabled - this will add Auto ignore to your ignore message when someone is auto ignored.
Disable room recording of IP's notification - This will remove the message yahoo displays on enter of the room that states that you ip is being logged etc.
Use CheetaChat Sound if installed - This will allow u to use CheetaChat sounds if there installed.
Auto popup knock when room is full -This will keep trying to get into a room that full.
xxxx MS (1000 -= 1 Second) Knocking Speed to get into a room - When a room is full it will try knocking this lets you set how many seconds before each knock.
Room Invite deflect - This will stop invites to other rooms.
Proxy.
This is for users who use proxy settings if you do not know what a proxy is please don't worry about this section.
PM Settings.
PM's Enabled - If you wish to receive Private Messages check this box.
Accept PM's from friends only - This will only allow Private Messages from people on your friends list.
x Seconds must past before a new PM window can show - Set amount of time before another pm box can be opened great for slowing down pm boots/flooding.
Ignore any PM message send in the first 5 seconds of joining room - This is good for stopping spam bots from pming you as they pm you as soon as they enter the room so this option stops it.
Double Click if buddy otherwise ignore them - This will allow you to double click to send pm to friend if there on your list rather than ignore them it will still ignore people who are not on your list when double clicked.
These options are really the backbone of Y!mLite so get to know them well and you will have happy chatting, particularly the Flood Filters which will get rid of a lot of crappy spam. 85% is recommended.
Yahoo-->Lock Out: This is a security feature which will require you to re-enter your password to get back into Y!mLite.
Yahoo-->Save Chat text: This allows the user to save the current chat buffer to a text file.
Yahoo--> Mail Login: his option will take you to the home page of Yahoo Mail http://mail.yahoo.com/
Yahoo-->Edit Nick: This will take you to Yahoos' Profile log in page
Yahoo--> Exp Details: This feature is for Program experts. It will display various information related to your login.
Yahoo-->Exit: Will close down Y!mLite and disconnect you from Yahoo at the same time.
To PAUSE (so you can scroll up) The Chat Screen, simply highlight some Chat Text with the Left Mouse Button Click and Drag
Click the menu edit you will see a list of things here what they do:
Copy - Will copy any highlighted text on the screen.
Select All - Will select all the text on the screen.
Find - Will let you find certain stuff your looking for example if your looking for where someone typed help then you would enter the word help in find.
Click the menu Format you will see a list of things here what they do:
Hotkeys Enabled - If you have room hotkey's set this will enable them allowing you to use hotkey's to switch to rooms you have set.
Ding on ID - This will make a ding noise every time your name is typed in the room.
Y!mLite Alert Sounds - This turns on/off sounds for booter alerts etc.
Flash window on ID - This will make the window for ymlite flash when someone types your name.
AI Options - These are pretty interesting here what each one does:
Smart AutoComplete - When you type part of a ID that's in the room you can click the right arrow key on your keyboard and it will fill the rest in for you but smart auto complete will shorten the ID down so say for example you have roy.xi smart auto complete will post Roy.
Wb buddys - This will welcome back any of your friend that enter the room as long as there on your friends list.
Auto reply to wb - This will auto reply to people who welcome you back.
Reply to Hi, Hello - this will say hi back.
Greet buddys when enter - Will say hi to anyone on your friendlist that enters the room.
Custom Message Setup - Allows you to change what the auto stuff says.
Y!mLite General Sounds - This turns on/off sound for when you get pm's or someone ignored etc.
Identitars - This is your avatar options here what each one does
On - Turns the identitars On.
Identitar Library - This is a library of identitars you can choose from.
Upload Identitar - This lets you upload your own custom identitar so other ymlite users can see it.
Select jpg ident - Lets you select a identitar.
Messenger Style Emotes - When you make custom emotes it will add them to your yahoo messenger emotes as well.
Filters - This is extra filters you can enable here what each one does.
Girlyfilter - Changes girly words like 'arse' to 'bottom' and 'shit' to 'wow'.
Enable Swear word Filter - Filters posts containing swear words.
Style - Only one option here Force text to lowercase which will force CAPS to lowercase.
Spell Checker - Check your spelling before posting.
Click the Menu View you will see a list of things here what they do:
URL's - Displays a list of url's which have been posted in the chat room.
Quick Room Hotkeys - This is where you can set up the room hotkey's for joining rooms fast simply time the room name in and when your press the hotkey it will take you to that room.
Friends - Allows you to view your friends list.
Never Ignore List - Manage users you have added to Never Ignore List.
Users Ignored - Manage users you have ignored.
Emotes - Manage emotes such as ignore emotes etc.
Scroll - Not sure why this is in the list it don't do nothing
Room Enter/leave message - Turns on and off the room enter/leave messages.
Users who have said your id - Gives you a list of users who have said your ID.
Stay on top - Makes ymlite stay on top of other windows.
Menu Bar - this will hide/unhide the menu bar with all the icons on it.
Add Buddy - Add a friend to your friends list.
Delete a friend form your friend list.
Away IM/PM Greet - This allows you to set your away status and your enter/leave message for when you enter or leave a room.
YahElite ignore import - This imports ignores from yahelite if you have yahelite.
YahElite button import - This imports the buttons from yahelite if you have yahelite.
Y!Tunnel ignore list import - This imports the ignores from Y!Tunnel if you have Y!Tunnel.
CheetaChat ignore import - No longer works.
Launch External Voice - You can add a external voice for ymlite to use such as marcus's yvoice!
Start my webcam - Allows you to start your webcam if you have one.
Enable Anti Boot Mode - helps protect you against booting.
Y!mLite Voice guard/shield 2k/xp only (udp blocker) - Turn this on when voice laggers are trying to lag the room this will help protect you against them.
This allows you to keep the chat client up to date
It displays the current version at the top then the info of the updated version below that and at the bottom you have buttons that do the following:
Check Latest Version - This will check the site for latest versions.
Visit Y!mLites Site - Will take you to Y!mLite's Site.
Close - Will close the window.
Get Latest Build - Will download latest version.
Get Sparta Messenger - Download Sparta Messenger for more info on this check the ymlite site.
Get Button Bar - Download Extra button bar which floats.
Auto Check - Auto check for updates on startup of ymlite.
Auto Smileys - Auto download smileys on startup of ymlite.
Select Skin - This allows you to change the skin for Y!mLite you can get more skins for ymlite by going to the Y!mLite site.
Select Wallpaper - This allows you to select a wallpaper for the chat window.
Post link to Y!mLite homepage - This will post the link to Y!mlite in chat for all to see.
Post link to forums - This will post the link to Y!mLite forums in chat for All to see.
Y!mLite ad attention - This is just like posting ymlite homepage in the room but it posts a fancy ad for ymlite.
Fun stuff - Allot of neat fun stuff you can do here what this stuff does:
Hackers code - Turns your text into hackers code.
Mirror your text - Makes you text show backswords.
Iggy roulet - Will ignore a person at random.
Add new smiley face - This allows you to add new smiley to ymlite simply click on it enter keystroke for smiley you want to add click ok then enter the name of the smiley please note the smiley has to be placed in the rtfimages folder inside the ymlite folder and must be a .bmp file.
Smiley Editor - This lets you edit the smileys in ymlite.
Cool Jans text - Makes your text upper and lowercase to give a cool font affect.
Bad English Generator - Turns text into bad english for fun.
Time Spent Typing - Shows u how long u spent typing.
Send CheetaChat Sound - If you have CheetaChat Installed u can send CheetaChat Sounds.
Need a Drinks Tray holder? - Not going to spoil this click it find out for yourself lol.
YMSG Ping Time - Will show you the ping time if connected on YMSG server.

Release any free memory - Easy enough it frees up free memory on your pc that ymlite no longer using.
Request echo chat - not 100% sure what this does as i not been able to get it to work.

Voice Problem Fix - download yacscom.ddl file for people having issues getting voice.
Reset Flag as Bot Filter - If someone gets flagged as a spam bot or you accidentally flag someone as a bot use this to reset it.
Enable boss key - Allows you to hide ymlite by pressing the f10 key bring the window back again by pressing f10 good for hiding the window from unwanted eyes.
Convert It - Handy tool for converting things likes of weather, money etc.
View Downloads Directory - If you received files off other users this opens the directory the files where downloaded too.
User Report - This gives you information on users such as age, sex, what chat client there on etc.

About - Tells you about ymlite.
Credits - Shows credits to people who have helped with ymlite.
